Why Our Windsocks:
Our observations revealed a serious defect in the old style windsock used for wind speed and direction. The ordinary windsock has remained unchanged for decades. Since there was nothing better, it's design, up to now, has remained the same without much alteration. In the past the majority of use has been for for small aircraft. Today because of expanded chemical use and storage, sports aircraft, law enforcement, and other applications the speed of the wind, especially the low speeds has become very important in the area of safety.

The Innovation:
We set out to design a system that would not only tell you which way the direction the wind was coming from, but detect it at a very low wind movement. You could have a hundred old style windsocks in place, but if they do not detect a 1 mile per hour wind they are useless in a hazardous spill or release.
